  Henrietta Wood, pictured, is the second student at Pershore High School to be honoured by having work published. Her article, ‘The War on Woke is distracting us from a devastating reality’ is a fascinating read; she clearly used some of the skills covered on the A Level in English course. Having taken part in much debating in her younger years, Hen has always had one eye on the political stage. She took part in the last COP27 hosted in Brighton and formed part of the youth panel. Look out for the full article in November’s edition of ‘Vale and Cotswold’. And look out for Hen on the political stage when she has completed her degree. Earlier in the term, Dan Saunders’ article was featured, ‘Be A Man’ which is still a talking point today, where he raised issues surrounding ‘toxic masculinity’. We are very proud of their achievements and hope these opportunities lead to further published writing in the future. Mrs Merrett, English teacher.
