Key Stage Three Careers

Our KS3 Careers programme is taught as part of our PSHE programme. At Years 7 and 8 the focus is on self-awareness and beginning to explore the world of work. Lessons focus on the students’ own preferences and strengths and encourage them to reflect on their experiences. They also begin their journey in understanding the wealth of careers available to them.

At Year 9, an important year for choices, students look in more depth at employability as well as decision making. Students learn how to draw their experiences together in mock CVs and letters. At this time students also look at enterprise and entrepreneurship.

In addition to the careers programme students discover careers through the tutor programme, guest speakers in assemblies and workshops.
