PSHE, Citizenship, Society and Ethics and Careers Education

Key Stage Three PSHE and Key Stage Four Society and Ethics encompass Relationships and Sex Education, Careers, Citizenship and living in the wider world. The curriculum reflects the 2020 Statutory Framework. In Years 7 and 9 there are two lessons a fortnight, and in Years 8, 10 and 11 there is one lesson a fortnight.

The aim of the programme is to allow students to access information and explore ideas and opinions through source material and lots of discussion. It equips students with the relevant information and skills they need to keep themselves safe and healthy and to make appropriate decisions. Students are encouraged to ask questions and reflect on their individual opinions and values.

The PSHE and Society and Ethics curricula are supported by the tutor and assembly programme which is delivered by a range of staff and guests and often has a health, wider world or values based theme.
