  • Information on self-isolation for students following changes to national guidance

    Mon 28 Feb 2022 PH

New guidance on self-isolation for people with Covid and their contacts:

As you are aware changes were made to the requirement to self-isolate.  The following link should open the full guidance: UKHSA guidance for people with Covid-19 and their contacts.

There is no longer the expectation that students should test themselves for COVID twice a week; though we have a limited supply of LFD Test Kits, we are unable to order any more.  Test kits should only be used for testing from day 5 in infected people in order to check that they can return to school following two negative tests taken 24hrs apart.  Students can collect a test kit for this purpose from the Student Hub.

The UKHSA guidance is clear that, while there is no longer a legal requirement for people with Covid to self-isolate, if you have any of the main symptoms of Covid or a positive test result, the public health advice is to stay at home and avoid contact with other people.

Key points from this document are as follows:

    • If you have any of the main symptoms of Covid-19 (a recent onset of a new continuous cough; a high temperature; or a loss of, or change in, your normal sense of taste or smell) you should order a PCR test. You are advised to stay at home and avoid contact with other people while you wait for the test result.

    • If you test positive, you should continue to stay at home and avoid contact with other people. This includes not attending work.

    • Children and young people with Covid-19 should not attend their education setting while they are infectious. They should take an LFD test from five days after their symptoms started (or the day their test was taken if they did not have symptoms) followed by another one the next day. If both these tests results are negative, they should return to their educational setting, as long as they feel well enough to do so and do not have a temperature. They should follow the guidance for their educational setting.

    • Children and young people who live with someone who has Covid-19 should continue to attend their education setting as normal.

  • Equestrian Team Success!

    Mon 28 Feb 2022 PH

The team of Amelia Hunt, Sky Harris and Kayla Trapp came third in the 80cm show jumping over the half term which is a great effort for our first competition this year. Amelia and Sky had two fab clear rounds and Kayla just had an unlucky pole.

Ciara Duffin then had a lovely round in the 90cm with just a few faults in tough competition. A great day out. Well done all.
