  • School Clubs are go!

    The start of the Autumn term has seen great involvement in several school clubs including;

    • Dungeons & Dragons Club is always popular and full of fun.
    • French Conversation Club gives our GCSE students another opportunity to practice with their peers and friends.
    • In Art club, it has been great to see some lovely work in KS3; as Mr. Reid says, well done and stay creative!
    • Creative writing club encourages students to think more imaginatively and present their concepts so they may develop them into fully formed ideas.
    • Our Student Council meet weekly to be a voice for the student body, helping drive school improvement as well as building relationships along the way!
    • A numbering of extra-curricular sports have been running this term including football, rugby, netball and badminton, with a fantastic turn out and effort shown by so many of the students.
    • Science club have had a fun and interesting half term, and have been learning how to make Spewing Pumpkins this week in readiness for Halloween.

     

    It has been wonderful to see so many students interested in these clubs and we look forward to seeing what the next term will bring.

  • Community Action Award Winners

    Congratulations to the 5 students who were recognised for their community action work last night (Tues 21st October). These sixth form students won a 'Community Action Award' at the presentation for their impressive contribution. We are delighted that you have been recognised in this way

  • Future Careers for Current Students

    This week will see both Year 7 and Year 9 students thinking about their futures. On Wednesday 22nd October, Year 9 will talk to local employers about their industry, followed by National Careers day on Thursday 23rd October.

    We hope students are inspired and encouraged to think about a careers they may not have considered and learn so much from our guest speakers.

  • Year 10 Artist Trip to Tate, London

    Last week, our Year 10 Art students took a trip to be astounded, engaged and motivated by the work displayed at the Tate, and Tate Modern Galleries, London.

    Students were fantastic company and looked to be inspired by the work they saw and experienced.

  • Taking part - UK Maths Tust Senior Maths Chellenge

    Congratulations to the Yr 12 & 13 Maths students who took part in the UKMT Senior Maths Challenge earlier this month. The students performed brilliantly, achieving 1 gold, 5 silver and 7 bronze awards, with 1 students qualifying for the next round in November. We wish them all the best.

  • Sport! Sport! Sport!

    A brilliant start to the sporting year for a number of our sporting teams!

    Football - The Year 9 and 10 Boys football teams, as well as the Under 13 and Under 15 Girls footballs, have had some great wins and matches and shown brilliant team work and determination.

    Rugby - The Year 10/11 Boys rugby team have had an early win to the term and are showing the new players in the Year 9/ 10 team what can be achieved. Both teams have shown brilliant resilience and effort in their matches.

     

    We also had some Year 8 and 9 students attend the District Cross Country, who all ran well and were a credit to both themselves and the school.

  • Beating Cancer, one step at a time

    This summer, our lovely French Teacher, Miss Bowden, will be undertaking a cycle ride from London to Paris to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support. Miss Bowden has had a demanding year, undertaking cancer treatment, and is now on the road to recovery and challenging herself with this epic ride.

  • An invitation to the German Ambassador’s residence

    On Tuesday 24th June, our wonderful Subject Lead of German, Frau Ward, enjoyed a day celebrating the German language at the Sommerfest der deutschen Sprache (the Summer Festival of the German language). This was a fancy event held at the German Ambassador’s residence in London. The main event of the day was the Network Champion for German Award, which was presented to six people who have worked tirelessly to promote the language in the UK.

    A few German teachers and educators were invited to join in the event, network and enjoy some Kartoffelsalat und Wurst in beautiful settings!

  • Easter Ski Trip 2025

    All you need is gloves!

    Students and staff got their cold weather gear on for the annual Easter ski trip. Students skied and made friends, ice skating and playing games while in Obertauern, Austria.

    Looks like everyone had a great time.

  • Sixth Form Experience - Trip to Paris

    Students spent a couple of nights in Paris, including taking in the Arc de Triomphe, a sparkling Effiel Tower at sunset, a sightseeing river cruise on the River Seine, taking in Parisien café culture on the Champs-de-Elysees and basking in the sun of Jardin des Tuileries.

    Students also an evening of culture in Le Louvre, seeing the Mona Lisa, other works of art and the foundations of the original fort that the museum is built upon before waking up early Saturday to view the Sacre-Coeur Basilica (Basilica of the Sacred Heart) before heading back to Gare du Nord to travel back home via EuroStar.

     

    This is certainly a trip these students will never forget and a lovely break before they begin their A Level exams in a couple of weeks time.
